After Blair Jamieson, GM of Tāmata Hauhā, attended our wildly successful Gala Dinner in November last year, he made the decision to take his family to Samoa for a well-deserved break, and to learn more about Samoa and the people who live there.

In February, Blair, and his wife Sophia and their two young daughters enjoyed a wonderful time at Return to Paradise Spa and Resort, relaxing by the pools and taking in the local attractions, including a day out game fishing.

One of the highlights of their visit was Blair’s meeting with the TLFF scholarship students. They chatted about the impact of education and Blair told them about how education empowered him to secure better career opportunities, earn a better income and provide for his family, and extend his circle of friends and networks.

“It was fantastic meeting the students in person and sharing my education journey with them. They were really interested to know about how my life changed for the better as a result of getting an education,” said Blair.

Afamasaga Su’a Ramona Su’a Pale Gilchrist, GM of Return to Paradise Resort & Spa, added “For many of our students it can be challenging to envisage a different world, and to imagine how life might be different for both themselves and their families with education”.

“The discussion with Blair came at the perfect time and really helped our students: Isa, Catherine, Gogo, Hannes, Su’e and Amato, to set personal goals.”
